Illinois Community Profiles

CJC staff tracks local workforce and economic development information in partner communities around Illinois and summarizes the information into profiles for use in local policy and planning discussions.

Illinois Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) Map

Available Community Profiles:
Aurora (2012)
Chicago – South Suburbs (2011)
Decatur (2013)
Rockford (2013)
Springfield (2011)

Each profile focuses primarily on the city or region, while including some broader information regarding the Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA).  All profiles  include:

  • Characteristics of the community’s labor market (top jobs, industry growth, projections, etc.)
  • Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) information (allocation totals, contractors, etc.)
  • Descriptions and contact information for key organizations, programs, and leaders in the community. However, some information in each profile is provided for the LWIA as a whole.  Some LWIAs are made up of either a county, or counties.  For clarity, these counties are also listed.
