Illinois Community Profiles
From WIRE
CJC staff tracks local workforce and economic development information in partner communities around Illinois and summarizes the information into profiles for use in local policy and planning discussions.
Below are the four completed profiles for the communities of Rockford, Aurora, Decatur and Springfield. Each profile includes characteristics of the community's labor market (top jobs, industry growth, projections, etc.); Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) information (allocation totals, contractors, etc.); and descriptions and contact information for key organizations, programs, and leaders in the community.
Each profile focuses primarily on the city or region highlighted in the lower row of the chart below. However, some information in each profile is provided for the LWIA as a whole. Some LWIAs are made up of either a county, or counties. For clarity, these counties are also listed.
| LWIA | 3 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 19 | 20 |
| Counties | Boone, Winnebago | DeKalb, Kane, Kendall | DuPage | Cook (South) | DeWitt, Macon | Cass, Menard, Sangamon, Logan, Christian |
| Community | Rockford | Aurora | DuPage County | Chicago - South Suburbs | Decatur | Springfield |
