- February 7, 2012 - A one-page, Illinois-specific profile of the SNAP Employment & Training program is now available on the program profiles page, which also hosts additional profiles for workforce development programs. These profiles include information on program history, eligiiblity requirements, administrative hierarchy, and more.
- January 11, 2012 - 2010 funding, contractor, and outcomes information posted for LWIA 9 (Chicago). To view WIA data, visit the workforce development data page.

- January 31, 2011 - CWIC released the 2011 fourth quarter report on job demand and employer needs, as well as the fourth quarter dashboard of economic indicators.
- January 26, 2011 - New unemployment data has been released and uploaded for Chicago and Illinois.
- December 14, 2011 - 2011 Report on Illinois Poverty highlighted on the WIRE poverty page. Again, thanks to Social IMPACT Research Center for their work.

- January 26, 2011 - The provider directory welcomes The Indo-American Center as the most recent addition to the resource. There are now 170 service providers highlighted from across the Chicago region and beyond.

- February 8, 2012 - A number of recent articles relating to youth employment and the economic importance of education have been added to the WIRE publications catalog.
- February 7, 2012 - Interested in how to better engage employers? Visit the WIRE publications catalog and keyword search, "Employer Engagement" to find a number of recent articles on the topic.
- January 12, 2012 - A report from the United States Council of Mayors suggests that in 2012, the metro Chicago region will add more jobs than any other region in the nation due to a wide range of strength in industries including finance and manufacturing.

- December 12, 2011 - A case studies library has been developed by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), the regional agency for comprehensive planning in Northeastern Illinois. This library offers various examples of initiatives from around the seven-county region that exemplify the goals and objectives of the GO TO 2040 plan.
